The Trail of S. Bento, of cultural and landscape context, presents itself as a footpath of short route (SR), it has a length of approximately 10.5 km, with a duration of 4 hours, and an average degree of difficulty with some steep slopes. This route extends along the southwest hillside of the valley of river Caldo being intercepted in two places, by the section of EN 304, which links the parishes of river Caldo and Covide. Its tracing is characterized by places of historical cultural and religious interest, which arouse curiosity to the foot passenger and visitor. One of the main attractions of this trail are the old ovens where charcoal was fabricated, called potholes, the pitfall of the wolf - Animal capture sites and granitic rocks with the footsteps of Saint Euphemia, representing traces that recall the traditions and mythologies of the parish of Rio Caldo. The pitfall of wolf and the pothole are structures that demonstrate and confirm the coexistence existential relationship, with benefits and harms, between man and certain animals, including the bear and the wolf.
