Quinta dos Carqueijais

Situated in Rio Caldo, the Sanctuary of S. Bento da Porta Aberta is for many years, an inevitable reference of the life Terras de Bouro Municipality.

Thanks to the faith of thousands of devotees of São Bentinho, the visit to the sanctuary became imperative. From the most remote lands, the night and day hikings of (little) pilgrims become popular, as well as the pilgrimages of 21 March, 11 July and mainly the 12 and 13 August in which religious and profane meet in a symbiosis so rich and natural.

Today, S. Bento da Porta Aberta, together with Gerês, the National Park and the Via Romana / Geira are poles of attraction and true ex-libris of Terras de Bouro enhancing economic development of the region where nature, heritage, Hydrotherapy, gastronomy and crafts come together in a touristic product of excellence.
